THE ORGANISATION
The National Institute of Public Administration [NIPA], exists under the Act of Parliament No. 15 of 1998. The Institute now seeks the services of highly motivated individuals to join its team of skilled professionals.

REPORTS TO: REGISTRAR
JOB PURPOSE
To superintend over the administration of academic programmes in the Institute as provided for in the Institute’s Academic Regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides secretarial services to the Board of Studies (BoS) and its committees, follow-up activities to ensure timely implementation of BoS decisions as well as those of its committees,
  • Supervises the process of student admissions, registrations, records and examinations;
  • Ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records of current and former students;
  • Builds secure student data files and set policy and procedure for their responsible use;
  • Develops, interprets and enforces policies and regulations on academic affairs;
  • Monitors the Institute’s long- and short-term plans in accordance with its strategy;
  • Develops the academic wing departmental budget;
  • Maintains up-to-date course schedules, catalogues and final examination schedules;
  • Manages the efficient use of classrooms;
  • Supervises and maintains the degree audit systems;
  • Supervises the processes for the articulation of transfer credits, graduation and certification of bachelors and master’s degrees, enrolment and degree verification.

Requirements & qualifications

Work experience: 0-2 Years

Knowledge, Experience and Skills Requirements

  • Grade 12/ University entrant.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field but preferably Social Sciences or Educational
    Administration.
  • A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
  • Five (5) years minimum working experience in a similar role.
  • Membership to relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
  • Excellent decision making skills.

  • Team building and supervisory skills.
  • Negotiating skills.
