<p>We are looking for an&nbsp;HSE Coordinator who will provide technical advice to different projects in Zambia to enable project teams to effectively implement HSE procedures and standards and manage and mitigate HSE risks. As part of the exploration team this role will be critical in contributing to safe delivery of the mineral exploration projects in Zambia.</p>

<p>Reporting to the HSE Business Partner RTX and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will be responsible for:</p>
<ul>
<li>Take the lead and invite the team members to identify hazards, review risks, propose and implement controls during the risk management processes, ensuring risk management plans are established and implemented, reviewing project risk registers and management plans to ensure they are connected with Rio Tinto HSE standards and in country requirements.</li>
<li>Having your PPE on and enjoying the outdoors while assisting Rio&rsquo;s team to implement the annual HSE plans, priorities, inspections, audits and preparing the reports focusing on risks that can kill or injure our people or impact the communities and the environment around we operate.</li>
<li>Assisting project teams to carry out inspections of site, materials and equipment to ensure safe operations.</li>
<li>Assisting project staff to use HSE systems and to use Sharepoint to control documents, disseminate information, and maintain registers and records.</li>
<li>Producing statistics and reports from the HSE systems to report on and monitor HSE results across projects. Reporting HSEC incidents and take immediate action to secure a workplace as safe as necessary following an incident or near miss.</li>
<li>Conducting investigations for straight forward / less complex incidents or near misses. Be curious and establish the facts, identify causes, make findings and recommend actions arising.</li>
<li>Contributing to the development and delivery of HSE training and providing coaching to project staff (training plan, HSE Training, materials, training records)</li>
<li>Get ready to connect with contractors and new employees and have the HSE message spread out through inductions, training, and daily interactions.</li>
<li>Undertaking case management for less complex / more straightforward injuries and health concerns, take appropriate actions to address requirements (eg. facilitating medical evacuations and establishing and coordinating return to work plans in liaison with relevant employees, medical specialists and HR).</li>
<li>Ensuring our workforce is healthy and leading the occupational health program along with our medical partners.</li>
<li>Ensuring contractor practices at a project level comply with Rio Tinto and statutory HSE standards and requirements, providing advice and workplace/on-site collaboration to assist contractors to comply with HSE standards and requirements.</li>
<li>Overseeing the work of junior staff and contractors, allocate work and prioritising tasks as required. Developing local workforce capability in HSE practices, systems and requirements.</li>
<li>Providing leadership in improving HSE culture and performance at the project level, by continuously providing performance feedback and saying &ldquo;What went well&rdquo; and looking for opportunities to improve the &ldquo;even better if&rdquo;</li>
